Reviewers consistently note a positive sentiment toward Twycross Zoo, particularly highlighting the family-friendly atmosphere, improvements in facilities, and helpfulness of staff. Visitors appreciate the value of the annual and day passes, secure and extensive soft play areas, and well-kept grounds. Some criticisms do appear, mainly regarding food pricing, vegan/diary-free options, and the challenge of seeing animals during inclement weather. However, these are mentioned without detracting from the overall experience.

Common feedback includes praise for the zoo's layout, accessible parking, picnic areas, and child-focused activities like the Gruffalo Trail and splash zone. Staff friendliness and professionalism are recurring strengths, and operational details such as easy ticket upgrades and clean facilities reinforce the zoo’s reliable service model. Took advantage of the annual pass offer. With myself and my girlfriend having a baby who's under two, we didn't have to pay for zoo entry for him. We went for the premium passes. This allows you to park your car for five times for free (usually £3 a time), discounted prices on food and on merchandise and, also 50% off soft play (with a child's annual pass only). *You must activate your annual passes and confirm what time you intend on visiting the zoo, also you need to register your car registration before you visit* We visited on a rainy day, which wasn't too bad, because we had something to eat and our son went on the soft play, which is big and has plenty to do for kids of all ages. It's also secure too, with the staff taking that part of the job seriously. We waited for the rain to die down, before heading out to see some animals. Unfortunately most of them were taking shelter because of the rain. We did manage to see a few though. The best thing is that it didn't feel like a waste of a journey, as we have got the yearly pass and we are planning on going again soon. The staff were friendly, the grounds were clean and well kept, the food was nice, although expensive. You are allowed picnics in the restaurant area, I feel like they need to have a separate area for people buying food and people who bring their own. Because, even though there are lots of tables, it can get very busy and people who have brought their own food can go anywhere to eat, whilst people who buy from the restaurant can't.

Great facilities for visitors, including plenty of parking as well as multiple toilets, etc. There's a cafe/restaurant and some snack bars dotted around, so you can really make a day of it. Plenty to see. If you follow the Zoo Map, you'll not run out of things to do. Really good zoo, if you like apes, chimps and gorillas. I can see some extension work going on. I wonder and hope that there might be some new animals on the way. Very friendly, polite staff.

It had been quite a few years since I last visited Twycross Zoo so I was really looking forward to taking our two kids for the first time over the Easter holidays. We booked our tickets about a month in advance (luckily got a nursery discount too, which was a nice bonus) for a 9:30am entry. Even that early the place was already pretty busy! Thankfully, staff were on hand helping with parking which made things smoother. Right at the entrance there’s a large soft play area, plenty of seating and even a Costa, which was an unexpected touch. The coffee however, came with a bit of a sting—£4.40 for a small latte felt like service station pricing. The zoo itself is well laid out and easy to navigate with clear signage and maps available throughout. It’s definitely more of a “monkey-focused” zoo—there’s a huge variety of primates compared to other animals. A few enclosures were empty, but that’s understandable; after all, the animals aren’t always going to be out for show. All in all, it was a lovely little day out and the kids had a great time. It was very busy (no surprise since it was Good Friday) but still enjoyable. A nice touch is that the tickets are valid for up to a year, so we’ll definitely think about returning again sometime soon.
