Fantastic gardens. I found the story very moving. The jungle is amazing. Beware its very steep in places. You might have to pay to park - but we were given a coupon for a free drink because of this. Cafe is lovely. Highly recommend

Fantastic location to visit on a hot day, with plenty of shade available. Plenty of parking (pay on exit, machine accepts cards, £3.50 all day) Much to see in the gardens, allow at least 3 hours, but 4-5 hours would suit. Steep in places, and good footwear needed if it's been raining. Take time to read all the slate signs giving details of the lost staff that went to fight in the great war, truly fascinating. It would be nice to be able to walk through some of the glass houses, looking into them from a door in the end just isn't the same as a walk through, feeling the heat and humidity.

Stunning gardens, would recommend sensible footwear if it's been raining the day before or the say of entrance. Staff were so wonderful and friendly throughout the place which was lovely. Gorgeous photo opportunities throughout. Lots of lovely plants and sculptures to enjoy, loads of beautiful birds too. Car park was reasonably priced and you paid on exit, first hour free. They also gave us little coffee vouchers which gave you a free coffee upon entry. We spent 3.5 hours here without even trying. The entire place is dog friendly, they must be on a lead at all times. But our dog still had a really good time. Food and drink is a little bit pricey but not more than you would expect to pay in a place like this. Wonderful day out!!
