Terrible company to book with A LOT OF FAKE REVIEWS have been posted by them. We booked a trek for 4 people , all friends and the experience was a total disaster, mismanaged.( We have done Kilimanjaro with another provider before). We were just a money making gimmick for them. THERE WERE HIDDEN CHARGES EVERYWHERE we went.Other groups who paid lesser than us did not have those. The tea houses that we were made to stay at were super filthy. There were better tea houses around and you could get a better one for a cup of coffee in the UK or US.But you are made to stay at a bad filthy place since you want to be with a group and they want to save money . The guides were on their phones .Some of them were willing to help. Most of them were ruthless.Head guide was touting mountain life when they took us to communal hostels that were worse than motel 6’s of the world. We woke up tired because they pushed us into taking the vehicles on a dirt road journey that would last 15-20 hrs.NO SEAT BELTS for most of any part. It helped them save money instead of having us take the flights that we paid for. They purposely took us to the airport late as the weather is clear in the morning and we would see the flights leave. But when it came to our turn, we had to wait hours and then went on a money saving, nail biting journey on a windy one way dirt road.Plz do not let them do this to you. They want you to waive off your rights in case they are negligent. Please do not do that.Since they are negligent.Plz refer to the picture of a driver on the phone on one way dirt road with no seat belts in the vehicle-ON HIS CELLPHONE NOT LOOKING AT THE ROAD. Also a guide surfing the net while walking instead of leading his clients.I slipped and fell under his guiding experience and another guest slipped and the group members had to help. What kind of quality is this? It felt like a detention camp, the rooms they chose were like prison cells.Once I realized that - I started paying for upgrades and better rooms in nearby tea houses. You will definitely end up paying more with them ..Please read their negative reviews and you will see many positive ones are fake. They make money by having their vendors charge you extra as if you have not paid them enough already.NEVER EVER BOOKING WITH THEM AGAIN.

Jorge Montero was the most amazing guide and CEO. Nothing was too much trouble, he was so thoughtful, helpful, knowledgeable and patient with my group. Jorge explained the trip and the rich and diverse history of his beautiful country of Costa Rica with such passion and enthusiasm, and also shared his detailed knowledge of Central America and his own roots and family links. I’d like to say sincere and heartfelt thanks to him for bringing the trip alive, finding truly memorable activities for us- I’ll never forget my zip lining experience or the river safari. What a way to celebrate a big birthday!

I have previously enjoyed the Intrepid programs and was hoping to find another tour/program for our travel in Norway. However comparisons to other providers has failed to find a reasonable rate or interesting tour. The tours offered have a heavy reliance on public transport, long days of travel with short stopovers, so a lot of geography covered, few meals provided and a very high cost, by 30% or greater than equivalent tours. Suffice to say, we have not booked with Intrepid this time round.

Reviews Summary

The overall sentiment toward The Adventure People and similar tour providers is mixed, with notable variations in customer experiences. Some reviewers highlight attentive and supportive team members such as Anna, Rachael, and Rita, describing efficient and informative booking interactions. However, significant negative feedback centers on operational transparency, hidden charges, and inconsistent quality, with some mentioning mismanaged tours and poor accommodation standards. Certain negative reviews also raise concerns about communication and issue escalation with management and customer service.

Frequent themes across reviews include the helpfulness and responsiveness of individual staff, the efficiency of the booking process, and personalized support when organizing specific trip details. Yet logistical issues such as misleading online availability, overreliance on public transport in tours, lack of meal inclusions, and high pricing frequently surface as pain points. Customers also note inconsistencies between online offerings and actual service delivery, particularly regarding tour availability and accommodation.

Overall, The Adventure People’s reputation is characterized by a strong booking and support experience, especially with designated staff members, but is tempered by concerns about program transparency and after-sales assistance. Prospective travelers, especially in regions like Norway and for adventure destinations, may benefit from reviewing both positive experiences and cautionary feedback before choosing this tour operator.
