Reviews Summary

Overall, customer reviews for Margaritaville at Sea Islander cruise line reflect a mixed sentiment. Several guests praise the ship's vibrant atmosphere, spacious cabins, engaging entertainment, and the attentive efforts of specific staff members such as bartenders and dining personnel. Notable highlights include consistently clean cabins, family-friendly activities, and dedicated cruise personnel. However, some guests report issues with booking processes, guest services, maintenance, and unexpected charges.

The most frequent themes include service quality—both positive and negative—with staff friendliness, efficiency, and memorable bar service noted, alongside concerns about professionalism at the guest services desk and inconsistent responsiveness. Common operational criticisms focus on ship maintenance, limited food options, long wait times, undisclosed fees, and a lack of appealing activities for certain age groups. The cruise is noted for being particularly family- and teen-friendly, though some guests found the ship crowded with unsupervised children.

In summary, Margaritaville at Sea Islander has a reputation in the cruise market for lively atmosphere, enthusiastic crew, and suitability for families, but experiences vary greatly. Customers in regions such as Tampa and the Grand Bahama Islands highlight disparities in service, calling attention to both outstanding individual efforts and persistent operational deficits. Prospective travelers should assess priorities to determine fit.

Cruises Margaritaville at sea island May 30-June 3rd to Cozumel. This was my first cruise so didn’t know what to expect. I really loved the vibes of the cruise ship. Our Room had plenty of space. The food for the most part was spot on especially Cheesburger in Paradise. Every time we left our room we came back to a clean room with an animal made from towels on our bed. The only reason I did not rate 5 star is it took awhile at times to get drinks from the bars and I had to go to guest services twice because my card wasn’t on file even though it was set up before boarding. I will travel Margaritaville Islander again very soon!

We just took an Inaugural cruise on the Sea Islander from Tampa to Cozumel and let me say, it was a very nice cruise. Prior to boarding, the customer service was horrible when calling to make reservations, make payments or find information. However, the actual cruise made up for that negative experience. There were some minor issues that arose on board but staff worked quickly to fix resolve them. The food was 8/10. There were not many options for those that do not eat pork or other meats, especially at breakfast. Loved the Tiki Bar (extra cost)! The entertainment was a 10/10. Great shows and activities on board for adults. My only critique is that there were not enough activities for children from 9-12. The kid’s club didn’t have a lot of activities for that age bracket and the arcade did not have a lot of games. They should have had a similar “party” event for this age bracket as they did for the 13-17 year olds. The cabins were 9/10. It was spacious and not too cramped. The service was great! Jashuli and Puat took great care of us! The bartending and serving staff were also great, especially Deka! They made great drinks and made sure we wanted for nothing. Definitely would cruise with Margaritaville at Sea despite the bad experience when booking.

Just finished a 3 night cruise (Feb 7-10, 2025). I personally didn’t like it. I thought I would save money by going with Margaritaville Paradise. There’s not much of a difference with bigger cruise lines so I suggest you go with bigger cruise lines. Again, you pay what you pay for. Here are my experiences and insights about the cruise: There’s not much variety of food, and most of the time, they had to repeat the food. What’s more sad was you had to wait for a certain time so you could eat. I know they prepare everything of course, but I feel they limit everyone. The last cruise I had with Celebrity, you could eat anytime you want. There’s was non stop food, and the food is way better. Employees are just okay. They are not that welcoming. Some are, some don’t. There’s not much of activity. It’s kinda boring. Not a lot of people engagement. If they have some activity, it will be like board games. They need to make it more fun and exciting. The ship itself is kinda old for me. There’s not much amenities too. Overall, they need to improve a lot with their brand. They need to catch up a lot with bigger cruise lines. This is not to attack them, but it is for their improvement.
