L'Antica Pizzeria Da Michele's customer reviews analysis

L'Antica Pizzeria da Michele generally delivers a high-quality customer experience, particularly noted for its authentic Italian pizza; however, there are notable inconsistencies in its service. Multiple reviews praise the pizzeria for its delicious pizza with the thin, crispy base, authentic Italian taste, and high-quality ingredients. The establishment's ambiance, cleanliness, professional staff, and location are repeatedly commended. Yet, some customers have expressed dissatisfaction with perceived upselling, overpricing, and inconsistent service. Recurring themes of complaint include issues with the charging for unwanted items such as bottled water, excessively salty or burnt food, and a few instances of unpleasant interactions with the staff. These aspects leave a portion of the clientele with a reluctance to return, though for many, the quality of the pizza offsets the shortcomings in service.

Positive Feedback

Key positive aspects of customer feedback revolve around the authentic quality of the food served at L'Antica Pizzeria da Michele. Many reviewers point to the high-quality ingredients, flavorful and crisply baked pizzas, as well as the sizeable portions. The pizzeria's decor and ambiance are appreciated, creating a welcoming atmosphere conducive to dining experiences. Several comments highlight the restaurant's convenient location near Baker Street underground station as significantly advantageous. Moreover, the cleanliness of the facility, including the restrooms, receives favorable mentions. Staff professionalism and friendliness are noted as positives by some customers, and the provision of top-notch service adds to the overall praise. The recommendation of the restaurant by repeat visitors further underscores the strengths of the establishment when it comes to its culinary offerings and overall dining environment.

Concerns and Threads

Despite numerous positive reviews, L'Antica Pizzeria da Michele has faced criticism concerning certain aspects of customer service and pricing. Some patrons have reported a sense of being pressured to purchase unwanted items like bottled water or extra toppings, which were then added to the bill without clear prior pricing communication. Additionally, there are accounts of food items, such as fries, zucchini frittes, and calamari, being excessively salty and instances where pizzas arrived burnt or cold. The negative reviews occasionally depict staff as unfriendly or rude, with specific incidents elaborating on poor etiquette exhibited by a waiter. Price point is another recurrent issue with some customers finding the food overpriced. These negative customer experiences have cultivated a sentiment among certain visitors that the restaurant is a tourist trap and have led to strong recommendations against patronizing the establishment.

Pizza is delicious! The Servers were nice and the Restaurant Looks awesome. For me as a Student it is high price. Would recommend the pizza. Part of my service experience: the Server Served me the water and the cap fell into the glass, he put the glass away and poured me another one, but still charged me the whole bottle… a bit weird but the pizza was too good to take away a star

Upon arrival we was asked if we want still or sparkling water not mentioning the bottle of water is instantly added on the bill, the waiter we had wasn't very friendly and kept up selling everything not mentioning the cost of adding it on. We ordered fries and zucchini frittes which was extremely salty. The pizza was average some bits were burnt. Everything is so overpriced, experienced it once won't be returning again. If you're visiting the restaurant find out the price of add ons before you agree to it. Spent a little over £80 just for the pictures shown below.

Clearly the best pizza I had. We tried the margarita with DOP cheese and mushroom. The thinnest base, crisp, I loved the quality of the base, cheese. It smelled buttery. The location is just outside Baker Street underground station and beside 221B Baker Street. The decor looks decent. I loved to see how they are making the pizza. You will see the Live counter when you enter. The restroom was clean as well. Highly recommended.

About L'Antica Pizzeria Da Michele

Pizza

In 1870, the Condurro family began what was to become a long tradition of master pizza makers in the center of Naples. Michele Condurro, son of Salvatore, perfected the family art of pizza making, whose secrets he had learned from the famous masters in Torre Annunziata who were experts in the preparing and kneading of pizza dough, and the cooking of pizza. The secret of Da Michele’s enduring success is in the use of natural ingredients, and of an old, traditional, time-tested method of leavening pizza dough. L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele has the features of a traditional Pizzeria, and a modern Italian Restaurant, offering a range of typical Italian courses and tasteful Neapolitan specialities in a welcoming setting
