My experience with this company has been nothing short of a nightmare, and I feel compelled to share my story to protect others from falling victim to their deceptive practices. This raises serious concerns about their legitimacy and adherence to legal standards for construction businesses. I engaged this company for a complete roof tear-off and replacement, expecting a professional and competent service. Unfortunately, the reality was far from what was promised. During the project, they caused extensive damage to a building by neglecting to properly tarp the roof during rain events, not once but twice. This resulted in water infiltrating into the property, causing significant harm. Upon completion, I hired a roof inspector to assess their work, only to discover that the roof was installed incorrectly. The pitch was wrong, and a section of the roof, specifically the elevator room, was left untouched. Despite their assurance to rectify the damage to the units, they abandoned the site after a mere week, leaving the issues unresolved. When attempting to seek compensation through their insurance for the damages caused by their subpar work, I discovered that Chicago Roofing Services Inc. did not have proper coverage for any of the damage they inflicted. The certificate of insurance they provided proved to be useless, leaving me without any recourse for the financial losses incurred. Further investigation revealed that the company is engaging in fraudulent practices by posing as a registered corporation. They utilize a roofing contractor's license through the state of Illinois, which belongs to the owner's brother, but is not registered to the company itself. This deceptive behavior raises serious questions about their integrity and commitment to ethical business practices. In addition, the insurance agent who sold the policy for Chicago Roofing Services Inc. failed to verify the legitimacy of the company. This lack of due diligence reflects poorly on both the company and the insurance provider. In summary, my warning to anyone considering hiring Chicago Roofing Services Inc. (Co.) is to be extremely cautious. They are fraudulent, unskilled, and not qualified to perform the work they advertise. Their lack of proper licensing, deceptive practices, and substandard workmanship make them a risk to your home or business. I strongly advise seeking out reputable and licensed roofing contractors who prioritize professionalism and adhere to legal and ethical standards.
