Reviews Summary

Ambassador cruise line receives predominantly positive feedback, with many reviewers sharing memorable experiences and satisfaction with aspects such as attentive staff, high food quality, and enjoyable entertainment. While some note cabins as somewhat dated, this is often balanced by praise for cleanliness, comfort, and improved ship conditions across multiple cruises. A consistent appreciation emerges for the welcoming crews and operational efficiency at port, particularly embarking/disembarking at Tilbury, though there are occasional negative remarks about understaffing, maintenance issues, and a limited compensation response for serious complaints.

Frequent themes in the reviews include the professionalism and friendliness of Ambassador's staff, the variety and standard of cuisine, and well-organized ship entertainment. Customers value specific features such as powerful showers, spacious cabins, and a clear sense of value for money. Visible improvements, responsive management addressing teething problems, and the flexibility offered when cruises are reorganized are cited as positive signals, although some reviewers report persistent issues like unavailable amenities, problematic smoking areas, or mechanical faults.

Overall, Ambassador’s reputation as a UK-based cruise provider is strengthened by recurring reports of reliable service, committed crews, and an engaging cruise environment. Most guests indicate a willingness to rebook, suggesting effective delivery of core cruise expectations and responsive management. While isolated incidents underscore areas for improvement, the service remains highly regarded in the UK cruising market.

Had a fantastic 11 day cruise in February on the Nordic City Escape on Ambience. Cabin was a bit tired, but that said as long as the beds ok, clean linen, & towels that’s fine. The shower was the most powerful I’ve ever found anywhere, with loads of hanging space and storage. Looked liked most of the bars etc had been updated very tastefully. Food was excellent, huge choice of dishes in the Borough Market, also good choices in the main dining room, didn’t try any of the speciality dining options, so can’t comment on them. Did try out the spa, which was excellent, would definitely cruise with them again. If you want value for money, but be opened minded the ship is a lovely elegant older lady you will have a good time.

Multi generational cruise to Casablanca We have just been on our first cruise and wanted to share with you a few of our experiences. To start with I want to thank all the amazing staff. They worked tirelessly to ensure everything was as the brand Ambassador required. Lovely, friendly approachable people from all around the world. That’s everyone from the guys who clean the hand bannisters to the captain of the ship. Wonderful human beings. Next the ship, she is beautiful. Not a new shiny pin but a glamorous, fabulous ship all the same. The cabins are spacious, extremely well kept, light, bright , clean and comfortable. The food was incredible both in quality and quantity. Something for everyone at a very high standard. The entertainment team are awesome. Every one of their performances was professionally put together and performed. Every night was like a west end show. The ports of call was great. Again something for everyone. There was an issue with the entitlement of a few passengers as far as sun-beds were concerned. A large number of the loungers were reserved with towels from very early in the morning and often not sat on until late afternoon, this needs a look at. The two hot tubs at the rear of the ship was out of use for any adults as they were occupied all day everyday by small children. Maybe an adult only slot could be put in each day? The above two things are aggravating but almost expected on a summer holiday so I can’t really complain. The next thing however is my only real complaint. The smoking area, it’s 2024 and yet we still have a smoking area on the ship in the middle of the pool area. Yes I know it is meant to be in one corner of the deck but it stretches practically the whole way along the side of the top deck. Personally, I’d ban all smoking on board but I do understand some people need to get a fix, so could the smoking area not be relocated to the rear of the ship on deck 8 or 9 ? This would make a much nicer environment for all the non smokers. There was a large number of kids and teenagers or board and 99% of the time they were well behaved. 1% of the time they was just like the rest of us have all been at some point in time. No complaints at all, we’ve all been there 😂 overall, we have had an amazing 12 days and will definitely go back to ambassador again for another holiday. We was on deck 6, room 6109, at front of ship. 5 star experience Thank you Ambassador

Cruised from Tilbury, great embarkation/dis-embarkation, visiting Plymouth by tender, Spain, Portugal and Northern France 9-21 March 25. Small outside cain mid ships on deck 8, good steward (Tom), good food, good service, good entertainment, good ports of call, would be happy to return to Ambition.
